How do I make a circuit with 2 IR LEDs & 2 red LEDs & 12VDC? I need the IR LEDs to generate HEAT.?
I want to make both HEAT AND RED COLOR in an enclosed 1-inch space- about 90 deg F. I have 5mm LEDs: Deep Red, L2-0-R5TH50-1 & 5mm 50deg Infrared LEDs, L2-0-IR5TH30-. From LED Supply Co. I need to figure out what resistor to use & what the circuit should look like. Also, is it possible to generate about 90 deg F with only 2 IR LEDs in the circuit in this small enclosed space, using a 12 VDC supply? If not, how many IRs would I need?

Depends on how small and how well insulated the space is. Two LEDs are not going to produce much heat, so the space will have to be very small. I used to work at a photo lab where we monitored some of the equipment with IR video cameras and we built illuminators with about 50 high output IR LEDs and housing they were in would definitely get warm, but even with 50 you couldn't really feel it if you put your hand in front of it. Actually, running on 12V a lot of the of the heat will be generated in the current limiting resistor.
for your LEDs, the red have a typical voltage drop of 2.2V and the IR 1.2V, if you put 2 of each in series, that is 2.2 *2 + 1.2 * 2 = 6.8, that means you need to drop 12V - 6.8V = 5.2V in the current limiting resistor, 5.2V / 20mA = 5.2 / 0.02 = 260Ω for the resistor, 5.2V * 20mA = 104mW, so a 1/4W resistor should work. Note that 20mA * 12V = 240mW, or about 1/4 watt for the whole circuit, resistor, red and infrared LEDs, so the amount of heat from infrared will be very small.
Another was of looking at this, if the voltage on the IR LED is 1.2V and the current is 20mA, that is 24mW, to get as much heat as a 7W night light bulb, you would need 7 / 0.024 =292 LEDs. So LEDs are much better at making light than heat.
