Regulated Power Supply
Circuit diagram of regulated power supply using IC LM317,IC7805,IC7812,IC7905,IC7912?
Try looking up the data sheets from the manufacturers. They almost always show a sample application.
For most of these 3-pin devices, one of the pins is ground, one is the voltage in (must be greater than the regulator's voltage) and one is voltage out. Capacitors on both the in and out pins help filter out noise.
