How do I frame a stretched canvas?

I want to put paintings (on stretched canvas) into frames I bought at hobby lobby. Can anyone walk me through this? Note: I am NOT asking how to stretch a canvas on stretcher bars - I have that down to a science. I've just never *framed* my paintings before, and don't know how to affix the paintings into the frames. Also, the hobby lobby frames don't come with hanging mechanisms attached - I assume you can buy the brackets to screw on, the kind you would then rest on a nail in the wall, but how about the wire that goes across? Can you buy that, or just make one?

Also, the frames have an indent in which you rest your canvas, but my stretcher bars are thicker, so the paintings will not end up flush with the back of the frame, they'll stick out. Is that a problem?

Thanks!

If you are working on a stretchers, you need not remove the canvas to frame it.

The frame are placed on the edge of the stretched canvas, as it is on a canvas board.

If you have buckled your canvas stretchers for some reason then you can remove the finished painting and remount it, either on new stretchers or on a rigid support.

To frame your first canvas you need:

1) Simply slip the painting into the frame from the back

2) A piece of paper is stuck on the back to tidy up and to stop from collection of dust.

3) If your frame is not as deep as your canvas is then you will notice the part of the canvas edge if you view for the side angle.

4) Buy clips to attach a frame to a canvas with ease.

5) Brian Rice - artist suggest to use bent pipe clamps instead of buying offset clips for the better handling of frame to a canvas.

6) Make use of float frame or L-frame. This help you painting to get inserted from the front and the frame is screwed from the back of the stretcher bars.

7) These are easily available in various glass shops and in the gallery shops.
